Balloon ride over Poperinge
Poperinge and the surrounding countryside are a firm favourite with our pilots, and from the basket it's immediately obvious why: the distinctive hop fields with their rows of poles, interspersed with rolling farmland and orchards, make this one of the most photogenic flights we offer.
Fly here in late summer and you stand a good chance of seeing the hop harvest from above — a sight you won't get anywhere else in Flanders. Poperinge also lies right on the boundary between the IJzer plain and the Heuvelland, with views across French Flanders and the Monts de Flandre on the other side of the border. On clear days the view even reaches as far as the coast, with places like Wenduine, Middelkerke, Sint-Idesbald and Adinkerke visible in the distance.
